Chilled aloe vera gel and a very light touch, for skin that has had too much sun.
Cooling aloe vera gel, kept chilled, worked over the body with a light touch. For skin that has had too much sun, and for anyone who simply wants something gentle.
Most guests who book this have spent a day outside and are paying for it. A scooter ride to the waterfalls, an afternoon at the elephant sanctuary, a morning that was meant to be an hour. By evening the shoulders are pink, the back is tight, and the thought of a normal massage is unbearable. Aloe vera is the right answer to that. It cools on contact, it draws water back into skin that has been dried out by sun and wind, and it helps the skin settle and repair. We keep our gel chilled, which makes a considerable difference the moment it touches burnt skin — guests usually make a sound when it goes on. The pressure is what matters most here. Sun-damaged skin is extraordinarily tender, so on burnt areas we work as lightly as it takes: slow, flat, more a gliding than a massage. And if you are not burnt at all, the same treatment works simply as a cooling, hydrating massage — we set the pressure to whatever you ask for, light or firm. This is one of the few treatments we can offer almost anyone. There is nothing in it that presses hard or heats up. If your skin has blistered or broken open, say so when you book, and we will keep away from those places entirely. If you are reading this in the evening with a sunburn, book for tonight rather than tomorrow. Aloe does most for skin that gets it early.
